Leroy "Papa" Stacy, a resident of Okemah, died Nov. 25, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 79. He was born Feb. 27, 1939 in Okfuskee County near Pharoah to Elmer Stacy and Mildred (Sanders) Stacy. Leroy proudly served his country with the United States Army and later with the Oklahoma National Guard. He married Virginia Lee Johnson June 19, 1958 in Okmulgee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mildred Stacy, his wife, Virginia Lee Stacy, an infant daughter, Pamela June Stacy, a brother, Tim Stacy and an infant sister, Linda Lee Stacy.
Leroy worked for many years as a truck driver and pipeline worker. He was a member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by three children: Steve Stacy and wife Wendy of Okemah, Sherry Crowson and husband Mike of Krebs and Daric Stacy of Okemah; seven grandchildren: Sarah Majors of Tulsa, Tyler Stacy of Chicago, Illinois, Josh Stacy of Okemah, Andrew Stacy, Patrick Lewis of McAlester, Amanda Delcarpio of Mcalester and Chris Stacy of Okemah; four brothers: Kenny Stacy and wife Barbara of Victoria, Mississippi, Jimmy Stacy and wife Linda of Henryetta, Jerry Stacy and wife Debbie of Seminole and Clifford Stacy and wife Debbie of Sapulpa; three sisters: Louise Kempton and husband Denny of Henryetta, Kathy Booze and husband Gary of Glenpool and June Lewis of Glenpool; also by a host of friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Integrity Funeral service, and 8 a.m. until noon on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Leroy's grandsons: Christopher Stacy, Patrick Lewis, Andrew Stacy, Josh Stacy, Tyler Stacy and Matt Majors.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov 28 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin and Rev. Greg Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery south of Okemah under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
