Jerry Wayne Porter died Dec. 5, 2018 at the age of 70. He was born to the late Virgil and Birta (Ross) Porter April 11, 1948 in Weleetka.
Jerry was a drag racer back in the day and he recently sold his top fuel dragster he rebuilt from back in the 80's. He was also a pilot. Jerry was part owner of a plane for most of his life. He was a member of the Dewar First Baptist Church and had been a teacher for over 48 years.
Those preceding Jerry in death are his parents, brothers Edwin Porter and Jackie Dean Porter.
Jerry is survived by his wife Brenda Porter of Okmulgee; son Mike Hutchings of Eagle town; daughters Lorie Grandstaff of Moore, and Loren Smith of Broken Arrow; stepson Kyle Lee and wife Tara of Tulsa, and Stacy Lee of Okmulgee; grandchildren: Hunter and Haley Hutchings, Michaela and GradyRoss Grandstaff, and Mackenzie and Camden Lee; sister Lorene Webster of Tulsa and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m.. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Dewar First Baptist Church in Dewar with Pastor Ryan Wells and Ron Hunter to officiate. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
