Nancy Louise Anglin Thompson, a former Henryetta resident, died Dec. 29, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 78. Nancy was born in Pawhuska Jan. 26, 1940. She grew up in Henryetta where she graduated from high school and met her husband of 43 years, Bill Thompson. She then attended the University of Tulsa and obtained B.S. in Physical Education. She and Bill lived in Tulsa where they had four children.
Nancy first worked as a school teacher and taught PE on and off for 15 years, taking a break when the children were young. During that time, she worked for Tulsa Public Schools, Sands Springs Public Schools, and Saint Pius Catholic School. She then went to work for the City of Tulsa as a Recreation Leader for the Parks Department. While being employed for City of Tulsa she worked at McClure and Whiteside Recreation Centers. During her time at McClure Park, Nancy created the first youth triathlon in the Tulsa area, and that triathlon continues today, 35 years later. She retired after 20 years with the City of Tulsa.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Pauline Anglin and her husband, Bill Thompson.
She is survived by her brother, Eddy Anglin of Plano, Tex.; daughters: Marie Pacheco, Molly Caston and Margie Thompson; son, Frank Thompson; grandchildren: Olivia Pacheco, Matthew Pacheco, Finn Thompson, and Riggs Thompson; and her great granddaughter Scarlett Wilkens.
Viewing will be held Sunday, January 6 from 12 to 8 p.m. and the family will greet friends that evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 7 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
