Potential candidates for a dozen municipal offices in Okmulgee have just over ten days to make up their minds if they want to run.
The filing period for city offices opens at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4 and will run through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Candidates can filed their Declaration of Candidacy forms at the Okmulgee County election board office in Okmulgee according to Ashley carnes, election board secretary. The election will be held April 2.
Henryetta has three positions open including wards 1 and 2 as well as the council member at large. That at large slot is currently held by Ronnie Duke who was appointed last year to fill the vacancy left when Bill Goodner resigned. His appointment was only good until the coming election.
Also on the council and facing re-election are the ward seats held by Christy Jeffcoat and Shannon Scott.
Dewar has four offices up for election. They include trustee offices 1, 2 and the unexpired trustee office 5 spots and the unexpired term for the town clerk and treasurer.
In Beggs, the openings include wards 2 and 4 as well as city clerk and city treasurer.
Morris will be electing a mayor with all other council seats filled already.
