The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says alcohol is believed to have contributed to a crash late Friday night east of Okemah that claimed the life of a Locust Grove woman.
Trooper David Brown said around 10:40 p.m. a 2004 Dodge pickup driven by Damonique Thorsell, 27, crashed on US 62 about six miles east of Okemah.
Thorsell’s vehicle was going east when it went off the roadway to the left and struck a tree. She was transported by Creek Nation EMS to St Francis Hospital Tulsa where she died Saturday morning from multiple injuries.
According to the OHP, she was not wearing her seat belt when the crash happened.
