Norman Forrest "Bud" Horton Jr., a resident of Dewar, died Feb. 3, 2019 in Dewar, OK at the age of 74. He was born July 26, 1944 in Paso Robles, Calif., to Norman Forrest Horton Sr. and Flossie Jeanetta (Haggard) Horton.
He proudly served during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He was a member of the Dewar First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Horton, Sr. and Flossie Jeanetta Horton, and by three brothers, James F. Horton, Steven J. Horton, and Michael Horton.
He is survived by his wife Alma Leatta Horton of the home; three sons: Christopher Horton and wife Jennifer of Highlandville, Missouri, Cody Horton and wife Jessica of Whitehouse, Texas, and Michael George and Fiancé Patti of Okmulgee; two daughters: Staci Alsover and husband Russell of Henryetta, and Rhonda Blackwell and husband Ross of Pierce; 10 Grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Kaler and husband Sam of Dewar; brother, Marck Horton of Kansas City, Missouri, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Chase Horton, Gary McGowin II, Chris Horton, Mike George, Cody Horton, and Russell Alsover. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Horton, Devin George, Nick George, Chad McGowin, Chad Hares, Joseph Horton, and Xander Alsover.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn cemetery in Henryetta. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
