At a special school board meeting Tuesday night, Lance Beck was hired as the new Knights head football coach.
Beck has been a coach at Sand Springs serving as varsity linebacker outside coach, defensive coordinator for the ninth grad and head track coach for both Sand Springs boys and girls teams.
Prior to that he was coach at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa with that team compiling a record of 32 wins and six losses from 2016 and 2017. The team also went to the class 2A state football championship tournament.
He received a bachelor of science degree in sports management from Rogers State University in Claremore in 2009. He is in the process of being certified in mathematics and U.S. and Oklahoma history, government and economics.
“We feel Lance will be an asset to our school and our football program,” said superintendent Dwayne Noble following the announcement.
Beck and his wife Kristina, are the parents of three children, sons Tyler and Cole and daughter Aubree.
