Herbert Lee Peters, a resident of Henryetta, died Feb. 21, 2019 in Henryetta at the age of 70. He was born Sept. 25, 1948 in Okmulgee to Leon Peters and Dorisola (Goad) Peters.
He served in the United States Army as a sharpshooter during the Vietnam War. He was a diesel mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Herbert Loyd Peters, brother, Steven Peters, foster brother: Kenneth Stump, one brother-in-law, Jim Thompson, nephew, Buddy Hughes as well as Paternal and Maternal Grandparents.
Herbert is survived by wife Janice Kay Peters of the home; son Jefferson Lee Peters of Tulsa; mother, Dorisola Peters of Henryetta; brother, Jimmy Peters and wife Veronica of Haskell; three sisters: Jeannette Thompson of Coweta, Janice Hughes and husband Ernest of Henryetta and Elizabeth Peters of Henryetta; sister-in-law, Susie Peters Brown and husband Bill of Porter,; step sons: Scott Jones and wife Tabitha of Dewar, Jerry Reed of Chelsea, Mark Reed and Walley Roach of Claremore, David Roach and wife Jamie of Chelsea, and Douglas Hawkins of Kentucky, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Albert peters, Michael Peters, MIchael, Quincy hughes, Colby Peters, Wesley Thompson, Jefferson Peters, and David Roach.
Viewing for Herbert well be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday Feb. 24 with family present to greet friends. from 6 to 8 p.m. Further viewing will be Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at Dewar First Baptist Church, at 507 6th st, Dewar Oklahoma with Albert Peters, officiating. Interment will follow at Morris Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
