The public unveiling of the new First Family Federal Credit Union corporate offices was held Tuesday afternoon.
Along with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours were given of the over 38,000 square feet that houses administrative employees including the CEO/President, Executive Vice President, Administrative Assistant, Internal Auditor, Member Information Specialist and the Accounting and Marketing Departments.
Construction of the new facility has been ongoing for several months following the purchase of the historic J.C. Penney building and adjoining structures last April.
In addition to the new offices, there is a conference center and room for additional busineses to lease space along Main Street.
"We are proud of our new facility," said CEO David Dykes. "This is a historic building and our renovations have respected that.
The J.C. Penney store opened in April, 1929 and closed in March, 1978. Within the new office space are a number of mural photographs by reknown local photographer Joseph Hardin showing Main Street as well as the community.
