January business was good for Henryetta merchants as reflected in the March sales tax check sent to the city.
This month the town received $208,672.32, an increase of $6,551.68 from a year ago. It continued the string of increased sales tax collections started in December 2017.
At the same time, the use tax return had a gain of $7,446.78 with $19,102.32 received this month above the $16,663.21 a year ago.
Dewar’s sales tax collections were also up with $9,468.92 this month compared to $$8,089.95 in 2018.
While Henryetta collections were up, the city of Okmulgee experienced an $18,322 drop compared to a year ago. The 2019 check was $452,801 compared to $471,123 in 2018.
Statewide, $139,701,209 in sales tax collections was returned to the cities and towns reflected a decrease of $320,213 from the $140,021,422 distributed to the cities and towns in March last year.
