A late game pitching change pushed the HHS-Beggs baseball contest into extra innings Monday evening before the Demons wound up winning 9-7.
Beggs started out with a one run lead int he first inning on an RBI double but Andrew Morris and Jean Pixler scored on RBIS in the second.
The Demons tied it up with a double and a single RBI in the third then moved ahead, 3-2 with a run in the fifth.
That lead changed in the sixth when Pixler doubled then Jeremiah Boyles nailed a single. Brodie Graffman walked then Jared Montgomery took a hit to the shoulder to walk in a run. A single by Ethan Wincle drove in the runs to give the HHS team a 6-3 lead.
Pixler would score again on a sacrifice in the seventh.
That was the inning that saw starting pitcher Drew Brown sent to the dugout after it was revealed he had thrown above the number of pitches allowed by OSSAA regulations.
The score was tied at 7-all when Beggs four runs forcing the extra grames of play.
Beggs would eventually take the two-run win in the ninth with a double that drove in a pair of runs.
Henryetta had one opportunity to keep the game going in the ninth inning when Cameron McKinney got a single then Boyles and Brown got on base but were left stranded.
Henryetta will travel to Weleetka Thursday morning to play Depew in an 11 a.m. game at the Outlaw tournament.
