For the third time this season, the Henryetta Dirtbags came out on top against Okmulgee.
In a four-inning contest, Henryetta trounced the Bulldogs 11-1 sending them to the Weleetka consolation championships.
It was also win number 800 in Henryetta coach Gary Howk’s career.
Henryetta actually put the game away in the first inning as Okmulgee failed to find the strikeout secret. The Dirtbags walked across home plate for ten of the 11 runs then Ethan Wincle added a single for the RBI.
Okmulgee got the lone run in the top of the second inning with a sacrifice fly out to right field. Even through the Bulldogs had the bases loaded, they were unable to narrow down the score.
In that decisive first inning, Henryetta scored six runs before the first out then added five more, going through the entire batting order nearly twice.
In the fourth, the Bulldogs again loaded the bases with two outs before that attack was shut down on a line drive to right field.
It was the final time the Bulldogs would go to bat as the game was called by the run rule.
