Despite two grand slam home runs in the same inning, the Lady Knights were unable to overcome the hits by the Latta Panthers Friday for a 12-8 loss.
Madelyn Blackbear and Huleah Wincle each cleared the bases in the fourth inning sailing the softballs over the fences at the Firelakes ballfields. The first homer by Blackbear tied the Lady Knights up with Latta 4-4 then Wincle’s homer put the HHS girls in the lead.
Those runs were the only scores that went up for Henryetta as Latta came back with back to back home runs in the fifth, a three run homer in the sixth and score off a double in the seventh.
Earlier in the day, Henryetta completely dominated the field blanking Pocola 12-0 in a three inning no hitter pitched by Emily Smith. This was the second time Henryetta shut out Pocola this season.
Henryetta went up 3-0 in the first inning then Kaylie Hamric nailed a two-run homer in the second.
The third inning saw runs by Jaylynn Joslin, Lauren Lee, Avery Miller, Madelyn Blackbear, Katelyn Dwiggins, Lexie Lollis, Hamric and Wincle.
