W.J. Whaley, a resident of Dewar, died April 18, 2019 in Dewar at the age of 84. He was born Sept. 6, 1934 in Bray. He married Nancy Barnett Sept. 8, 1969 in Wichita Falls, TX. W.J. worked as a pipe fitter and X-ray technician.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, stepson Karl Pierce, son in law Joe Luttrelle and two sisters.
He is survived by two daughters: Brenda Kuykendall and husband Mike of Oklahoma City and Revonda Luttrell of Burleson, Tex.; Ricky Whaley and wife Nataliya of Cleburne,Tex.; grandchildren: Bryce Pierce, Amber Pierce, Tristan (Krystal) Russell, Shane Kuykendall, Misti (Dustin) Harris, Kile (Cassie) Kuykendall, Temperance and (Chester) Smith, Victoria Weatherly, Joe Luttrell, Erika Halpain, Grant (Sara) Pruitt, Luke (Cherish) Whaley, Laura (Oscar) Duarte, Rachel Whaley, Karolina Whaley, Breanna Whaley and Olivia Whaley; 16 great grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; sisters: Ruby (Jesse) Myers and Evelyn Barnett; brother Ray (Faye) Whaley; daughter in law: Linda Pierce of Killeen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chester Cantrell, officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
