James Lewis "Pete" Mahan, Sr. a longtime resident of Schulter died April 23, 2019 in Henryetta at the age of 84. He was born April 8, 1935 in Okay to James Samuel Mahan and Sarah (Underhood) Mahan.
Pete married Peggy Willine Stidman July 14, 1962 in Schulter. He was an independent trucker and only recently retired. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Mahan, his wife Peggy Willine Mahan, a brother, Johnny Mahan, four sisters, Anna Lee Ashing, Betty Mahan, Elizabeth Wildcat and Pat Bell.
He is survived by four children: James Lewis Mahan, Jr. and wife Rosa of Okemah, Jeffrey Lynn Mahan and wife Renee of Wilson, Michael Henry Mahan and fiance' Roxanne Smith of Schulter and Kelli Denise Endres and husband Kevin of Schulter; 11 grandchildren: Codey Mahan, Alicia Mahan and Tommy Whistler, Nikita Hoover, Sherri and Mario Martines, Matthew Mahan, Jonathan Mahan, Emily Mahan, Sarah and Curtis Taylor, Olivia and Justin Winters, Jordan Endres; five great grandchildren; brother, Ed Mahan of Claremore; also by a host of friends and other relatives.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. until noon Monday.
Pallbearers will be, Codey Mahan, Tommy Whistler, Curtis Taylor, Justin Winters, Josh Parnell, and Mario Martines. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Mahan and Jonathan Mahan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2019 at Schulter Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
