There were tears, smiles, applause and admiration aplenty Friday night as the Henryetta high school graduating class of 2019 received their diplomas.
Ater the seniors took their seats, Drew Brown led the group in the Pledge of Allegance followed by Kenna Najera giving the invocaton.
An empty chair sat off to the side of the class in memory of Nathan George who should have been a member of the class but lost his battle with cancer.
Superintendent Dwayne Noble presented the salutatorian and valedictorian awards then the students received their diplomas.
Members of the high school choir presented, "Stand By Me" followed by the entire class singing the alma mater.
Fireworks lit up the night as the football field swelled with graduates, their friends and family members.
