Wanda Lee Hamon, an Okmulgee resident, died May 18, 2019 in Henryetta at the age of 85. Wanda was born May 21, 1933 in Okmulgee to the late W.L. (Roy) and Mable (Meek) Bortisser. Wanda was a glass worker at Ball Brother’s Glass Plant. She retired after 30 years. Preceding Wanda in death are her parents, sister Catherine Mae Davis, brother Eugene "Cotton" Bortisser, an infant brother, husband John Alvin Hamon, son Michael Edgar Hamon, a grandson Billy Don McClure and a son-in-law, Jimmy Manns.
Wanda is survived by her son Don L. McClure and wife Jenetta of Okmulgee; daughters Debbie K. Manns of Okmulgee and Connie L. Brooks and husband Tommy of Henryetta; grandchildren: Kristy Bartmann of Okmulgee, Jeff Hamon and wife Lauren of Coweta, Michael Hamon of Coweta, John Adams and wife Ashley of Coweta, Ashlee Manns of Glenpool, Bo Adams of Coweta, Tess Brooks of Carrolton, Texas, Tiffany Barker of Emporium, Kansas, Robert White of Detroit, Michigan, and Tommy White of Skiatook; great grandchildren: Dayton, Blake, Jaxson, and Maverick Bartmann, Jace and Hadley Hamon, Leo Solarzano, Bella Mae McClure, and Ivory White, and one sibling Willie Bortisser of Roswell, New Mexico.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, May 22, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Wanda Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jack Vance to officiate. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
