Amidst American flags blowing heartily in the win Monday morning, the fallen veterans of all wars were honored. The annual Memorial Day service held by the Henryetta FVW Post 539 and American Legion Hut 85 recognized the sacrifice by those of all services. A special poem, "March On Soldiers," was read by Patricia Bear. She wrote the poem in 2001 while serving with the Arkansas Army National Guard. The observance was punctuated by placement of flowers and flags at the memorial for the sallen service emmbers who are buried overseas. A dozen of those are from Henryetta and the immediate area.
