Okmulgee police are looking for help in identifying a person of interest in the burglary at the Aaron’s furniture store around 5 a.m. Monday.
Police chief Joe Prentice said the intruders are believed to have parked their car about an eighth of a mile away from the rear of the store, cut through two fences and a pasture to get to the building.
“Once there the suspect(s) pulled the electric meter, and filled an alarm bell with expanding foam insulation, before breaking in the back door of the store,” the chief said.
The intruders got into a safe and storage closet making off with some merchandise and a deposit bag.
He said officers checked video and purchase data from Wal-Mart and found a man who bought wire cutters, electrical tape and expanding foam insulation about two hours before the burglary.
A video shows the man leaving the store and officers say photos show a tattoo on his left hand.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Okmulgee Police at 918-756-3511 or they can contact the Police Department on Facebook,” Prentice said.
