Other members of the delegation are Governor Kevin Stitt, Oklahoma U.S. Sen. James Inhofe, Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce and Workforce Development Sean Kouplen, Oklahoma Secretary of Science and Innovation Dr. Kayse Shrum, state Sen. Adam Pugh, Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum, and Oklahoma Department of Commerce Executive Director Brent Kisling.
“It’s an honor to be invited to attend this event with state Department of Commerce officials, Governor Stitt, Senator Pugh and the rest of the Oklahoma contingency,” Fetgatter said. “This event is responsible for bringing hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in capital investment to our state through the growth of the aerospace industry in Oklahoma.”
Since being elected to the state Legislature in 2016, Fetgatter has been a tireless advocate for industries such as aerospace and in working with the state Department of Commerce to attract new businesses, new jobs and new economic development opportunities to Oklahoma.
According to Gov. Stitt, aerospace and defense are the fastest growing industries in the state. Since 2015, the state Department of Commerce has assisted with business announcements from aerospace companies totaling more than 7,000 new jobs and $700 million in capital investment. He said the Paris Air Show is a place the Oklahoma delegation can meet with CEOs of all major U.S. and foreign aerospace companies in one place. The Paris Air Show is one of the largest and longest-running aerospace trade shows in the world.
Fetgatter said he believes this is the first time state-level legislators have been invited to attend the air show. The State Chamber, as part of the Business Round Table group putting the delegation together, offered scholarships paying for his attendance.
