An arrest has been made in the shooting death of Edwin James Reid Wednesday morning.
glen westGlen West, 33, was arrested by members of the District 25 Violent Crimes Task Force Thursday following a search of a house in the 1300 block of West Trudgeon.
Henryetta police chief Steve Norman said officers were able to obtain a no bond warrant for West following extensive witness interviews.
West is alleged to have kicked in the front door at a home at 709 West Division sometime early Wednesday morning and shot Reid several times killing him. Reid’s body was discovered by a roommate who called police. Neighbors said they heard popping noises that were determined to be gunshots.
The police chief said there was other evidence in the case that was found at the West Trudgeon residence where West was staying.
West has been booked into Okmulgee County Jail on complaints of first degree murder and burglary in the first degree.
Police are still conducting interviews and would not rule the potential for other individuals to be charged in connection to the murder.
