Demolition started before daybreak Tuesday on two abandoned houses and a trashed lot. By noon, the two houses were completely turned into scraps of wood and debris and the lot was scraped almost smooth enough to mow over. The work has started a series of abatements with the ultimate goal of removing houses and structures that are eyesores in neighborhoods throughout Henryetta. "This is the culmination of hard work from our code enforcement office and city crews," said mayor Jennifer Munholland. "We are going to do our best to clean this city up, even if it is one house at a time."
