Thursday night the Lady Knights stretched their winning streak to 12 games with a 5-2 victory against the Kellyville Ponies. That set Henryetta at 16-2 for the season and makes it a perfect 6-0 district record.
The Lady Knights had to play catch up with the Ponies scoring first after two dry innings. Kellyville picked up the first run on an RBI grounder to center in the third inning.
Henryetta would go scoreless with three ground outs but
came back in the fourth with Avery Miller scoring on a sacrifice fly by Skylar Morris.
Kellyville retaliated in the fifth with a run to regain the lead. Lady Knight leadoff batter Jaylynn Joslin got on with a single in the bottom of the fifth then went to third when Kasedi Dwiggins doubled. Joslin would score on a Katelyn Gobin grounder to knot up the score at 2-2.
Henryetta would move ahead and stay there in the bottom of the sixth when Avery Miller singled then scored on a Morris line drive to center. That was followed by Morris and Lexi Lollis scoring a few minutes later.
Henryetta scored the five runs on nine hits. Miller provided the pitching for the Lady Knights for all seven innings. She allowed nine hits and struck out six Kellyville batters. That brought her ERA to .160 this season.
Henryetta will be hosting Eufaula Monday night then travel to Eufaula Tuesday. Both are district contests.
