Henryetta students will have new buses to ride in after nearly 70 percent of the school district voters approved a $980,000 transportation bond issue today.
There were 406 ballots cast with 285 votes of approval and 121 dissenting votes.
"I will contact the (bus) company tomorrow and get the ball rolling," said superintendent Dwayne Noble after being told of the results.
He did not give a time frame for the new vehicles to arrive but said he was anxious to get them as early as possible. The school will be replacing its aged and worn out fleet with new buses as well as purchasing two suburbans and a special activity bus.
