Once again Henryetta’s sales tax receipts were on the plus side.
The September sales tax return to the town amounted to $244,785.75, an $11,353 gain over a year ago and the second consecutive time it was on the pls side. Only once in the past 22 months did Henryetta show a decline. That was in July with a drop of $2,500.
Based on taxable sales from July business, the Henryetta return was part of an overall statewide increase that saw $161,992,104 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns.
At the same time, the use tax check to Henryetta was also on the plus side, amounting to $20,810 this year compared to $20,508 a year ago.
Around the area, Okmulgee’s city return was down $5,063 with a check this year for $528,627 compared to $533,690 last year.
Dewar’s check in September was $9,928 compared to $10,565 last year.
Okemah received $104,175, a drop from the $106,540 in 2018.
Weleetka had an increase with $17,059 this year compared to $15,363 last year.
