Daniel A. Gray, Sr. 74 of Haskell, died at his home Nov. 14. 2019. He was born Jan. 21, 1945 to Albert (Ab) and Francis (Fannie) Teague-Gray in Porterville, Calif.
He was in service of our country 3 years in the Army National Guard, then 3 years in The Army Air Corps. He began his working career at an early age at the cotton gin in Webbers Falls. He then worked in the aircraft industry for over 30 years earning several college certificates of completion, ending with retirement from McDonald Douglas in Tulsa when the plant closed in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, (Preston and Stanley Gray); six sisters: Pauline and husband Scotty Meeder, Thelma and husband Hugh Scarberry, Delores and husband Cleo Ray, Alberta Weaver, Nellie Hyslope and Artie Mae Green; grandson Casey Levi Hayes, and great grandson Jessie Levi Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife Elaine Gray of Haskell; four children: Angelia and Chris Bowley of Ft. Gibson and their four children, Cynthia and Chris Ferland of Tahlequah and their four children, Daniel Gray, Jr (D. J.) of Webbers Falls and one daughter (String Bean), Tracy and Paula Hayes of Park Hill and their eight children; 29 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends.
Viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Haskell.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Haskell with Pastor Shane Weaver and Pastor Gary McKeen, officiating. Interment will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Vaught Cemetery in Webbers Falls. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
