There was a reunion of sorts Wednesday when country and western music star Red Steagall stopped by Henryetta to visit with Sharon Shoulders. Steagall, the official Cowboy Poet of Texas, has had a connection with the Shoulders family going back decades. He was one of those paying homage to Jim Shoulders at his funeral and praised Freckles Brown in song for his successful ride on Tornado. During his time in town, he visited the chamber of commerce office to see some of the rodeo memoriabilia then went to Nichols Park to see the monument dedicated to Shoulders.
