A last-second, three-point goal in overtime gave the Wilson Tigers a 63-61 win over Henryetta Tuesday night.
Playing in the Okmulgee County tournament, both teams went into overtime after finishing up 55-55 at the end of regulation play.
The Tigers picked up five points to lead 60-57 then HHS sophomore Alex Hudson sank a two pointer to get within one. He followed that up nailing two free throws with 30 seconds left in the OT giving Henryetta a tight 61-60 advantage.
Wilson’s Michael Conard stole the ball then passed it to Asa Mitchell who sank the three point goal with five seconds left on the clock.
The Knights started out slow then had a ten-point lead, 50-40 at the end of the third quarter. Henryetta was held to only five points in the final period while the Tigers dropped in 15 to tie up the game.
That game-winning shot by Mitchell gave him a total of 19 points during the evening He was tied with Malik Thompson who also posed 19.
Hudson led the Henryetta scoring with 22 points while Joey Watson had 10.
The knights had problems connecting from the foul line getting only eight out of 23 attempts.
Wilson had the three-point range down, sinking ten during the game.
The Knights will be playing Preston at 8:30 Wednesday in the first consolation round. The Tigers will be going up against the Morris Eagles Thursday at 5:30.
