Vera Vaughn Jones, a resident of Okemah, died Feb. 9, 2020 in the Clearview Community at the age of 89. She was born Dec. 18, 1930 in Tuskegee, Okla., to Loyd and Emma (Arnold) Davis. Vera is a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Okemah and worked for Home Health Care before retiring.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband Leroy Vaughn and husband Howard Davis, two sisters Carolyn Davis and Veda Little.
She is survived by two daughters: Francis and husband Don Hart of Okemah and Marilyn and husband Tom Crum of Loyal, Okla.; son: Larry and wife Linda Vaughn of Sand Springs; grandchildren: Marie Price, Brenda Lajune, Darrell Hart, Billy Hart, Kevin Hart, John Hart, Ricky Crum, Greg Crum, and Mandy Kelley; 28 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; sister: Pauline Duchanan of Sapulpa; brothers: LD Davis of Beggs and Harold Davis of Ft Gibson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 at the Okemah Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jeremy Farris, officiating. Interment will follow at the Rock Creek Cemetery south of Okemah. Services are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
