Mary Jean Sparks, a resident of Henryetta, passed away March 11, 2020 at the age of 86. She was born June 25, 1933 in Foshee Corner, Hitchita to William Albert McCullah and Verna Ethel Nunn.
Mary worked for several years at the sewing factory in Checotah, also cooked at Midway School, and worked as a home health provider. She was a member of the Hitchita Freewill Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Verna McCullah, her mother and father in law, John and Lula Sparks, a daughter, Claudia Trappman, two brothers, Buck McCullah and wife Ruby, Billy McCullah and wife Venita, three sisters, Eunice Roulston and husband Buddy, Olean Goad, and Fay Patton.
She is survived by her husband Joe Ray Sparks of Henryetta; two children, Debbie Crosby (Gary) of Henryetta and Terry Sparks (Jennifer Brinker); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and ten Great-great-grandchildren; also by a host of friends and other relatives.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 15, and 8 to 11 a.m., Monday, March 16 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Mary's grandchildren, Chad Crosby, Jamie Crosby, Kevin Trappman, Carrie Nixon, and Tasha Hix. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mary's great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2020 at Hitchita Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. George Harris and Rev. Wayne Patton. Interment will follow in Lackey Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
