Leslie Penequine, of Norman, died March 23, 2020, at the age of 76. He was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Henryetta to Homer Franklin Penequine Jr., and Ruth Pauline (Caywood) Berkey. Les grew up cattle-ranching and had his first job as a newspaper delivery boy. He received a degree in accounting from Central State College, and was a buyer for Kerr McGee Corporation for over 30 years. Les ended his professional career retiring from the Gary Williams Company, formerly known as Wynnewood Refinery.
Leslie is preceded in death by his loving parents and grandparents.
Leslie is survived by his two daughters: Deborah Gail Arnold and husband Paul, and Cheri Penequine; five grandchildren: Leah Arnold Black (Erick), Bradley Arnold, Rachel Gillmore, Jacob Herzberger, and Anna Maxwell; two great grandchildren Maddox, and Miles; his sister Pamela Berkey Lee; Carmen's children, Todd A. Lemoine, Stephanie J. Lemoine, and Carmen A. Lemoine; Carmen's grandchildren: Lio, Jun, Madeline, Emma; niece, Stephanie J. Lee; nephew, Spencer Lee and multiple friends. Funeral services for Leslie will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the John Ireland Chapel and the interment will be at 2 p.m. at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta.
