John Martin Phillips, a resident of Henryetta died April 12, 2020 in Clyde, Tex., at the age of 79. He was born May 3, 1940 in Henryetta to Harvey and Thelma (Baker) Phillips.
John was a graduate of Henryetta High School. After attending college, John went to work for PPG Industries in Henryetta in 1959. He transferred to PPG in Wichita Falls, Texas. He married Marie Duty May 19th, 1961 in Henryetta.
JHe is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Thelma Phillips, his wife Marie (Duty) Phillips in 2014, his mother and father in law, Tom Duty and Neva Duty Durant (Buck), a son in law, Mark Brinkley, and a brother in law, Jimmy McMurray.
John is survived a son, Terry Phillips and wife Stacy of Clyde; a daughter, Sherry Brinkley of Burkburnett, Tex.; grandchildren: Grayson Phillips, Madelyn Phillips, Sheena Nicole Kelley and husband Matt, Cory Brinkley and wife Jessica, Payton Marie Phillips, Addison Schreffler and Dennis Schreffler,; four great grandchildren, Emma Nicole Barnes, Paisley Brinkley, Jackson Kelley, and Briar Brinkley; one sister, Mary Rowe and husband Mike of Henryetta; a brother in law, James Duty and wife Linda of Eufaula; a sister in law, Joyce McMurray; nephews, Tommy McMurray, Ted McMurray, Andy Duty, and Michael John Rowe and wife Billy; one niece, Jill Tran and husband Hien, as well as a host of friends and other relatives.
Viewing for John will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 14 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Council Hill Cemetery with Mike Rowe, officiating. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
