The pandemic social distancing has had an impact on many businesses and individuals. One of those is the Oklahoma Blood Institute that provides the live-saving fuids to many across the state and in the Okmulgee County area.
OBI drive coordinator Lucy Laird told Henryetta Lions that the various closures in schools and other businessses has meant there is a blood shortage.
To help make up some of that loss, OBI will be holding a Henryetta Boots and Badgers community challenge blood drive June 25 at The Briefcase, 313 West Main.
Laird said the drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. and every donor can receive a free COVID19 antibody test. "We will mail the test results back to the donors," she said.
All donors will also receive a Boots and Badges t-shirt as well as their choice of a tick to the Oklahoma Science museum or two tiockets to Safari Jo'e Water Park.
