Effie Marie Byrd, a resident of Dewar, died Aug. 3, 2020 in Henryetta at the age of 92. She was born feb. 19, 1928 in Welling, Okla., to Charles Henry Farmer and Dora Belle (Patton) Farmer.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Isam James Lewis Byrd, Sr., son, Isam James Lewis Byrd Jr., son, Johnathon Byrd, son, Carl W. Byrd, son, Harold Byrd, son, Michael Byrd, brothers, Travis Farmer, John William Farmer, Lonnie Farmer, and Alvis Farmer, sisters, Mae Farmer Dye, and Helen Farmer-White.
Effie is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Knight and husband Rick of Tiger Mountain; son, Troy W. Byrd of Henryetta; daughter, Kathy Doyle and husband Craig of Camdenton, Missouri; daughter, Dona Powell and husband George of Dewar; son, Charles L. Byrd and wife Shelia of Henryetta; daughter-in-law, Pat Byrd of Dewar; 18 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren,
one great-great grandchild; brother, Henry Farmer and wife Shirley of Tahlequah; brother, Troy Farmer and wife Virginia of Tahlequah; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Lester Sullivan and Rev. Casey McIntosh, officiating. Interment will follow at New Sonora Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Carly Byrd Jr., Eric Scott, Tim Rose, Isam Byrd III, and Mitchell McMahon. Honorary pallbearers will be Bub Connors, Charles Byrd Jr., George Powell, Craig Doyle, Rick Knight, and Robert Sherrill.
