Loren (JR) Howk, a resident of Hitchita, died Aug. 27, 2020 at his home in Hitchita at the age of 71. He was born Nov. 20, 1948 in Henryetta to Loren Howk Sr. and Willine (Rogers) Howk.
He proudly served in the US Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy Howk, brother, George Howk, and sister Nadine.
JR is survived by his three sons: Lorn Howk and wife Tammy of Henryetta, Michael Howk of Hitchita, and Steven Howk of Hitchita; grandchildren: Baylie Bardin and husband Dalton, Dillon Howk, Ashlee Howk, Jeremy Howk, Scotty Evans, Tyler Evans, Karlee Evans, Caleb Howk, Aryn Howk, and Stevie Howk: one great grandchild, McKinley Bardin: two brothers: Billy Howk, and Jewell Howk; three sisters: Susie, Leona Oglesby and husband Ricky, and Phyliss Oglesby and husband Keith, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Hitchita Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Carson, officiating. Interment will follow at Lackey Cemetery in Hitchita. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
