Kermit Kuykendall, a resident of the Salem Community, died Sept. 3, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born Nov. 6, 1939 in Henryetta to Otis and Berniece (Lusk) Kuykendall. Kermit married Joy Ingram Oct. 19, 1962 in Salem. He worked for PPG for 14 years and retired from Ball Brothers after 19 years. He is a Deacon at the Salem Baptist Church and one of the ushers for many years and a Marine Corp Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife Joy, parents, brother James and two sisters Oleta Millender and Pearl Kuykendall.
He is survived by: daughter: Patricia Stevens of Oklahoma City; son: Kent Kuykendall and wife Beverly of Henryetta; granddaughters: Becky Baker and Isaac of Henryetta, Alisa Holuby and husband Greg of Henryetta and Cleotia Morrow and husband Eric of Savana GA.; grandsons: Nathan Kuykendall and wife Kaitlyn of Henryetta and Cody Holcomb of Henryetta; great grandchildren: Willa Holuby, Elijah Holuby, Clairie Holuby, Isabelle Norman, Kennedi Kuykendall, Everlyn Kuykendall, Elizabeth and Hailey Morrow, Audry, Katy and Owen Morrow, Miriane and Aiyana Baker; sister: Esther Burgess Brown; and many nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020 at the Salem Baptist Church with Scott Wolf and Tracy Howk, officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by the USMC.
Family will be receiving guest at the Rogers Funeral Home, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
