Henryetta was inundated with another round of heavy rain Saturday night but no major damage was reported. Nearly four inches of rain has fallen in the area since Thursday. Over an inch and a half was reported in town in the early morning hours Sunday.
Residents at Lake Drive Manor were evacuated as a precautionary measure but water never got up to the health care facility.
The Red Cross was called out again and set up an emergency shelter at the civic center.
In several areas, Coal Creek spread out over its banks but never threatened any homes.
AT Nichols Park, the lake level rose high enough to nearly cover the sand at the old swim beach. It also came nearly to the area that will become the volleyball courts for the Crazy Snake Festival.
The spillways at Jim Hall and Nichols Park were rushing due to the runoff from the rains.
The high water was typical of the area throughout the night as heavy rains fell on already saturated ground filling up creeks and rivers.
Several road closures were reported both north and south of Henryetta with the worse in the McAlester area. Part of US 69 north of the Indian Nations Turnpike had to be closed as were several streets and roads in the Tulsa area.
More storms are forecast for the remainder of the weekend.
