Kenneth Ray Powders, a resident of Henryetta, died Oct. 16, 2020 in Okmulgee at the age of 74. He was born Feb. 8, 1946 in Henryetta. Kenneth was very active in many civic organizations, Shriner, Masonic Lodge, Elk Lodge. He served as past chairman of the Okmulgee Democratic Party, a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, Boys state sponsor and a past officer in the American Legion. He married Virgina Ann Hamilton on December 24, 1966 in Henryetta and are members of the Dewar First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his mother Leota Powders.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Ann Powders of the home; son Kenneth Scott Powders of Henryetta; daughter Kristi Powders of Dallas, Tex.; grandchildren: Addison Collett, BaiLee Laughlin, Jackson Powders and Jason Powders; great grandchildren: CarrieAnn Sandlin, Archer Collett, Olivia Collett, Gabe Collett and Gracie Laughlin; brothers Jerry Powders and Billy Livingston of Henryetta; sisters Barbara Conduff of Springfield, Mo and Debra Long of Henryetta
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. Monday to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. closing to the public at 7 p.m. for private family time.
Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Wells, Officiating.
