An Oklahoma City man died in a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 40 just west of Henryetta.
According to the Highway Patrol, Leslye Boyd, 37, was the driver of a 2007 Pontiac that was westbound on I-40. The vehicle was said to have gone off the left side of the road then overcorrected to the right. After leaving the roadway, the car overturned several times then struck a tree.
Boyd was pinned in the vehicle for about two hours before members of the Henryetta fire department could extricate him using the Jaws of Life tool.
He was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries.
Trooper Dakota Bunch said the exact cause of the collision is under investigation. He said Boyd, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was using his seatbelts.
