A hefty 15-under par score of 97 gave Bo Tillman the winner’s title at the Oklahoma State Championship disc golf tournament this weekend.
Tillman, an Edmond resident, only had one bogey in the tournament with 16 birdie holes for his win.
There were 170 participants in the tournament at Nichols Park representing six states and over a half-dozen Oklahoma cities and towns.
“Saturday was a great day for the golfers,” said tournament director Jason Schwake.” Playing conditions Sunday were more challenging with a 30-degree drop in temperature but our players still turned in some great scores.”
Tillman led the open field while Norman resident Coda Hatfield placed second with 11-under.
The open women’s championship went to Katelyn Betty from Bixby with a 130 score.
This was the second major tournament to be held at Nichols Park since the disc golf course was installed.
Course designer Joshua Craig said more tournaments will be coming in the future.
