A single point kept the HHS tennis team from a first place win at Oklahoma City Thursday.
Competing in the 4A Classic, Henryetta chalked up first place victories by Aydon Andrews in 1 singles and Jordan Osterdock and John Ritter in the 1 doubles contest.That gave Henryetta 27 team points but the Elk City boys were able to post 28 for the win. The first place honors were just out of reach with Ethan Lovell forced to drop off the brackets due to illness.
Match first place wins were posted by Aydon Andrews in 1 singles, Jordan Osterdock and John Ritter in the 1 doubles competition and Josh Osterdock and Sheldon Andrews in 1 doubles. Lovell was scheduled to compete in 2 singles.
Henryetta’s high school girls finished in a tie for second with Elk City. Bing went on to take first in the team points.
Andrea Wade provided the lone first place win for the HHS girls in her 2 singles bracket while Kellyn Lollis placed second in her 1 singles contest with Syd Looper from Beaver. The team of Brooke Nash and Katie Davis finished in third place in the 1 doubles competition.
Earlier in the week, Henryetta hosted a dual with Union.
Ayden Andrews placed first in the 1 singles, Ethan Lovell was first in his 2 singles, Jordan Osterdock and John Ritter were first in 1 doubles and Josh Osterdock and Sheldon Andrew won their 2 doubles match.
That same day, Kellyn Lollis was the 1 singles winner in the girls brackets. The 2 singles match saw Andrea Wade lose to Grace Bryant. Henryetta’s Katie Davis and Brook Nash won their 1 doubles series while Kellyn Lollis and Andrea Wade won in 2 doubles.
