The softball field at Oktaha belonged to the HHS Lady Knights as they capitalized on three home runs including a grand slam by Avery Miller to win 11-2 Tuesday.
Henryetta was already up 7-2 in the top of the sixth when Miller hit to center field scoring Kassedy Lee, Katelyn Dwiggins and Jaylyn Joslin.
Earlier in the game, Lee smashed a fourth inning line drive to left scoring Makayla Greenhaw and Lexi Lollis.
Joslin got a two run homer in the top of the third that rounded out the power batting for the Lady Knights.
The HHS girls started on the board in the first inning when Kasedi Gobin picked up a double on a center field line drive bringing Dwiggins home.
All told, the Lady Knights had 13 hits during the game out of 33 times at bat. Those 13 hits resulted in 11 RBIs.
Dwiggins did the pitching honors for Henryetta allowing six hits including the lone homer for the Oktaha Lady Tigers.
“We found our bats,” said coach Ryan Swallow. “Our girls have had that capability all along and this was a good win for us.”
The win gives henryetta a 13-3 record this spring. Third ranked in the state, Henryetta is behind annual power house Dale with a perfect 13-0 record and Silo who beat the Lady Knights this past week.
