The high school golfing season is coming to a close with the state girls qualifiers set April 20.
Henryetta high school golf team traveled to Jenks this past week to face off against some of the 5A and 6A top golfers in the area.
Even though the Lady Knights didn’t bring home any hardware they say they learned a lot from being around some of this eteams that will be in the top ranks at the state tournament.
Henryetta wound up in 12th place but considering the schools involved: Broken Arrow, Jenks, Union, Owasso, Christian Heritage and Edmond, that was still an accomplishment according to coach Dutch VanDenBorn.
The Lady Knights carded a 384 for the day with three members shooting under 100. Skylar Smallwood had an 89 followed by Emily Stockholm with a 97 and Maybrey Been, 98. Lottie Johnson posted a 100 total for the day followed by Skylar Morris with a 103.
“Our girls have come a long way and should be ready for the qualifier and regionals, VanDenBorn said.
