Federal investigators are still putting together the background on a shooting that took place in northern McIntosh County Thursday morning.
According to one law enforcement source, a man was at stomp grounds east of Ryal when he thought he had been shot.
The individual, said to be Native American, went to a house and tried to enter it to call for help. The homeowner was present at the house and fired at the intruder striking him in the arm.
One investigator said the wounds were not life-threatening and the subject was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Because the incident involved a Native American and was on tribal land, the matter has been turned over to the Creek Nation Lighthouse and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
