Leslie Alonzo Henshaw was born March 20,1929 in Okemah to Charles and Myrtle (Harrison) Henshaw. He died June 5,2021 in Henryetta at the age of 92.
Les married Mayoma Bardin Dec. 16,1988 in Ft. Smith, Ark. He retired from Mead Energy after 60 years of employment Jan. 1, 2021. Les served in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers, five sisters, two grandchildren and one son in law.
Les is survived by his wife Mayoma Henshaw of the home; son, Russell Henshaw, and wife Deborah of Brazaro, Tex.; four daughters: Carol Ernest, and late husband Jerry of Sapulpa, Jo Ellen Shelton and husband Ben of Sand Springs, Robin Taylor and husband Mack of Tulsa, and Kelly Alred of Tulsa; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Nick Stephens, John Cowan, Kyle Morris, Gerald Bardin, Eric Stephens, and Johnathan Harrison.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Bardin, Mack Taylor, Ben Shelton, Terry Morris, and Brian Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9,2021 at 2 p.m. at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church in Dewar. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Rev. Martin and assisted by Rev. Greg Jones.
