Henryetta school will be adding two social worker and guidance/career counselor spots through a state grant.
Superintendent Dwayne Noble said the three year grant from the Oklahoma School Counselor Corps will provide salaries for the social worker at the elementary school and a guidance/career counselor to take care of both the middle and high schools.
“These will be in addition to our counselors already on staff,” he said.
The grant will total $189,000 for a three-year period or $63,000 each year. It is to pay salaries only and is the latest in a series of grants received by Henryetta schools in recent years.
“The last time I counted, we had received seven grants,” the superintendent said.
Advertising for the people to fill those positions will start in the coming days.
