A high speed chase by Henryetta police resulted in a crash and the driver of the car being arrested.
The early morning pursuit started around 4 a.m. Monday when police officer Paul Brown, jr., tried to stop a car for a traffic violation.
The vehicle sped off, leaving Henryetta and going down some county roads.
It came to an end when the driver, Billy Rowell, turned off his lights in an attempt to lose Brown. Rowell lost control of his vehicle, running off the roadway and struck an embankment. He was taken to Hillcrest Henryetta hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Rowell has a felony conviction on his record and two loaded pistols were found in the car. He also has two felony warrants for his arrest out of Sequoyah County.
