Rita Clara (Greeer) Harjo, a resident and retired restaurant owner of Muskogee, died July 9, 221 in Muskogee. Rita was born Dec. 13, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri to Josephine Mary (Ellison) and Jack Clarence Greer.
She moved to Oklahoma in 1976 where she started working, she then met the love of her life, Frank. They moved to Muskogee in 1976. She was a member of Hickory Ground #I Indian Baptist Church.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Richard Hastings, Tommy Hastings, Bruce Hastings and Jerry Greer, grandchildren: James Murphy, Tehya Bennett, Dylan Terrell, Jeremy Parker and brother-in-law Darrell Belt.
She is survived by her husband: Frank Harjo of the home; sisters: Jackie and husband Mark Wyett of Wagoner, Shirley Belt of Bakersfield, Missouri; daughters: Nancy and husband Larry Serna of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sandra Parker of Muskogee, Elouise Lesueur of Muskogee, Valerie and husband Tyrone Faulks of Muskogee, Juanita and husband Darrell Sterling of St. Louis, Missouri; sons: Ryan Harjo of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jack and wife Yolanda Bennett of Henryetta, Josh Harjo of Oktaha; 19 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Viewing and visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday July 15, 2021 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at Integrity Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday July 16, 2021 at Integrity Funeral Home Chapel Interment will follow at the Murphy Family Cemetery, south of Henryetta.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Joe Harjo, Jordan Harjo, Tyrone Faulks, Trae Harjo, Josh Harjo, Quardre Ross and Scott Maddox
Officiating ministers are Reverend Norman Daniels and Reverend Mitchell Taylor.
