Henryetta school staff swelled by five people Wednesday morning.
Board members held a special meeting to hire two new teachers as well as a counselor, social worker and security officer.
During the short meeting, Vanessa Johnson was hired as third grade teacher, Tiffany Lee as kindergarten teacher, Julie Watson as elementary social worker, Kira Hardgrave as high school and middle school counselor and Johnny Fairres as security officer for the school.
A plan to hire a second grade teacher was tabled for a future meeting.
Superintendent Dwayne Noble said there would be more hirings in the weeks ahead. School is going to start Aug. 12 for students. Teachers and support staff will be reporting for duty earlier that week.
