John Hollis Klimek, a resident of Henryetta, died Oct. 11, 2021 in Muskogee at the age of 92. He was born May 25, 1929 in Henryetta to John and LaVanna Klimek.
John was a retired glass worker, working at PPG, Liberty Glass and Anchor Glass. He was a member of the Church of the First Born. John served in the U.S. Army Paratroopers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and LaVanna Klimek; son, John Hollis Klimek, Jr.; sisters, Helen, Francis and Christine; brothers, Tony, Harold, Loyd, Lawrence and Junior; and lifelong friends, Harold Prewitt and Romey Sheward and John Thompson.
John is survived by his wife, Mary Wanda Klimek of Henryetta; daughters, Hollie Harris and husband Robert of Norman and Sheila Klimek Tarwater of Henryetta; grandchildren:Amber Stricklin and husband David of Oklahoma City, Tiffany Ogg and husband Derek of Oklahoma City, John Harris and wife Leslie of Jenks, Kendall Tarwater of Eufaula and Derrick Tarwater and Stephanie of Eufaula; great grandchildren, Emily and Riley Tarwater, Grant and Harper Stricklin, Layla Tarwater, Braylyn Griffits and Cash Romine; special niece, Sheila Dawn; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021 from 2 till 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Reginal Palmer officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be John Harris, Derrick Tarwater, Derek Ogg and David Stricklin.
